2.   05.08.2017: Exemption Visa Vietnam for all Chilean Citizens from 11.08.2017

The authorities of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of Chile introduced a bilateral visa exemption for holders of official passports with a total stay of 90 days on 25th June 2005. On 17 October 2016, the two states signed another intergovernmental agreement on visa exemption for stays up to 90 days and single entry, for holders of ordinary passports starting from 11 August 2017. The authorities of the two countries hope that the visa-exemption agreement will have a positive effect on the development of tourism to both countries.

3.   31.07.2017: Speed boat from Soc Trang to Con Dao Island available since 14th July 2017

On July 14th, 2017, at 8.00 am, the SUPERDONG I speedboat drove for the first time from Soc Trang to Con Dao Island. The speedboat was built in Malaysia with an investment capital of 50 billion VND (2.1 million USD). It has 2 floors, 4 areas, capacity for 306 passengers and the average cruise speed is 26 knots. The journey time from Soc Trang to Con Dao Island is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes, which is 4 times faster than the connection from Vung Tau to Con Dao Island. This will provide new opportunities for the provinces in the Mekong Delta and Con Dao Island to further develop tourism.

4.   22.06.2017: Visa Vietnam exemption extended the second time

As is now well-known, the Vietnamese authorities on Wednesday the 1st July 2015, had a temporary exemption from Visa requirement announced for citizens from five European countries (Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy and Spain) for a year until 30. June 2016. This was an apparently very effective program as, according to official Vietnamese statistics, the number of tourists which traveling to Vietnam increased continuously from month to month. For this reason on July the first in 2016, the Vietnamese government decided to extend this temporary regulation until 30. June 2017.

8.   01.07.2016: Visa exemption for Vietnam is extended

The mystery of the extension of the Visa waiver for Vietnam is dissolved. Today (at the first of July.2016) we received official reports from Vietnam where announced that the wishes of the Vietnamese Ministry of Tourism are realized and the Visa exemption for citizens of five European countries is extended for one more year, until the 30.06.2017 becomes. But for some Vietnam vacationers this news comes too late, as they have already applied for their Vietnam Visa.

9.   22.05.2016: Vung Tau Beach puts on an entirely “new shirt”

Vung Tau authority has officially banned carousing and cooking on the beach on April 26. 2016. To arrive at this decision, the cause also comes from the unconscious of many people. According to Ms. Truong Thi Huong, Deputy Chairwoman of People's Committee of Vung Tau City, people trade food and tourists carouse at the beach then they don’t clean up, even they throw rubbish indiscriminately and sleazily which contribute to the loss of aesthetic beach and coast polluting, and also reduce coastal water beach quality.

10.   25.04.2016: hawkers get their own marketplaces in Ho Chi Minh City for trade activity

Some public areas in town will be assigned for the hawkers according to an announcement by the government authorities in Ho Chi Minh City. The implementation of this plan shall begin at the end of April 2016th. All hawkers from District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City will then need to go for doing their business in fixed certain roads.
The selected areas for this pilot project are located in Ben Nghe Ward. It involves the sidewalk of the road Nguyen Van Chiem and the crossing of the streets Hai Ba Trung and Pham Ngoc Thach.

13.   14.11.2015: International Driving Permit is accepted in Vietnam

It is added thereto no actual message that the international driving permit is accepted in Vietnam but yet this is still current. Still are circulating a variety of information on the Internet about driving motor vehicles by foreigners in Vietnam. It states for example that neither foreign nor international driving licenses are accepted in Vietnam. It was further published that foreign driving permits require a rewriting in Vietnamese driver's permits for foreigners to may ride motor vehicles in Vietnam. 14.   04.11.2015: Vietnam Visa Fee are reduced

The Vietnamese government lowers on 11.23.2015 the fees of the visa Vietnam. This was notified to the Vietnamese authorities in Circular no. 157/2015 / TT-BTC of 13. October 2015.

These changes affects to all foreign Vietnam Travelers which are not exempted for Vietnam Visa and it refers to the cost for Vietnam Visa on Arrival.

15.   18.06.2015: Abolition of Visa Requirement for Vietnam

The Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung decided to abolish the Visa Requirement in Vietnam for citizens from 5 European countries. This applies to the citizens of France, Germany, Spain, Italy and England. The decision resulted from proposals to the Vietnamese Government by the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Vietnamese Tourism Administration. This measure attempts to counteract the declining visitors numbers in Vietnam which over the past 10 years have been steady increases (1).

16.   02.01.2015: Hanoi Airport opens New Terminal

After three years of construction the new terminal (T2) of the international Airport Noi Bai in Hanoi the largest airport in northern Vietnam was opens on time. The official opening of the now biggest and most modern terminal at the international airports in Vietnam was consummated by the Vietnam Airlines flight VN661 from Hanoi to Singapore at 10:45 clock local time. The new terminal (T2) comprises 4 floors and spans an area of nearly 140.000 square meters. It consists of a main building and two wings with modern facilities for services on passengers.

17.   13.09.2014: Visa Exemption for Tourists in Vietnam

Currently the Vietnam Visa exemption is valid for a period of 30 days for tourists from the ASEAN countries with the exception of Brunei (only 14 days), as well as for tourists from Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Japan, South Korea and Russia for 15 days. In addition all visitors to a stay of 15 days on Phu Quoc Island theoretically exempt from the Visa requirement. Background is a joint proposal of the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as well the Vietnam Tourism Administration to the Government.
